Mango Merchant of Port of Spain

When we were in Trinidad and Tobago for the wedding of our niece, Betsy, we spent a day with a guide, touring Trinidad’s capital city, Port of Spain, as well as much of the island. In the large open-air market in the heart of the city, we met this fascinating fellow selling mangos. He agreed to let me have a picture from which I did this painting a few years later.
